Inglis Shoal
Also known as: Inglis Shoals · Inglis
Inglis Shoal is one of the three best-known seamounts of Kimbe Bay and, like Bradford Shoals, is built mainly from plate and mound corals with patches of soft coral. Its crest slopes down to a lip at roughly 24 to 28 m, after which sheer walls drop away. Numerous anemones on the top host Clark's, pink and spine-cheek anemonefish, and there are many cleaning stations and moray eels. The main attraction is the fish action above the reef, with barracuda, batfish, trevally, unicornfish and dogtooth tuna. Grey reef sharks and scalloped hammerheads are reported regularly.
