Otto's Reef
Also known as: Otto's Point · Otto's
Otto's Reef stands apart from other reefs and land, which makes it feel different from the rest of the Walindi sites. The point at its north-eastern end descends steeply past fields of mushroom corals and blade-like sponges, with anemones along the wall. When currents form eddies at the point, schools of barracuda, trevally, sea perch, fusiliers and unicornfish feed close to the reef, sometimes joined by sharks and tuna. South of the point the wall has ledges, overhangs and small caves rich in sponges, black coral and reef clams, where spider crabs, gobies and nudibranchs live.
