Hanging Gardens
Hanging Gardens is a vertical wall that starts just below the surface and meets a sand and rubble bottom at about 30 m. Ledges, overhangs and deep cuts in the cliff are draped with rope sponges up to three metres long, many with crinoids attached. The shaded encrusting communities of sponges and sea squirts are a good hunting ground for nudibranchs, feather duster worms, shrimp and decorator crabs. It is also a recommended night dive, when animals emerge from the crevices to feed.
