Pared de Coral Negro
Also known as: Black Coral Wall
Pared de Coral Negro, the Black Coral Wall, is the first of the recommended El Colony dives and is marked with mooring buoy 1. Its name comes from the black coral found on the deeper part of the wall at around 30 to 35 m. Above it, the wall carries colourful tube and basket sponges together with elkhorn, staghorn and brain corals. Tarpon, snappers, hamlets, queen parrotfish and angelfish swim along the face, and moray eels hide in its crevices. All diving here starts from Marina Siguanea near the Hotel Colony.
