Stringer

Also known as: Stringer Reef · Stringers

Stringer is a tiny reef just beyond the backline, made up of two rocky outcrops with open sand all around. Because sand easily covers it, operators dive it on calm days without much surge or current. It works as a nursery for juvenile fish, which in turn draws game fish. Macro life is the main attraction: frogfish, paperfish, ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimps and honeycomb morays are regulars. Potato bass, many rays and turtles are also common.
