Naufrágio da Parnaioca
Also known as: Parnaioca · Navio da Parnaioca
Nobody has yet named this cargo steamer, which most likely sank in the first half of the 20th century. The wreck runs almost perpendicular to the shore down a steep slope, with the crushed stern in the shallows and the bow beyond 30 m. Much of the hull lies capsized, with boilers, steam engines and other machinery upside down beneath it, and the propeller shaft rises from the bottom towards the rocks. Narrow passages exist, but sources advise against penetration because the hull is falling apart. Above about 20 m the water is usually clear, while a cold, dark layer often sits deeper.
