Champion Islet
Also known as: Champion · Champion Rock
Champion Islet lies just off the coast of Floreana and is often combined with Punta Cormorant. The dive is a drift along a wall covered in black coral, gorgonians, sponges and yellow cup corals, where Pacific seahorses and hawkfish hide. A very large sea lion colony lives on the islet, and huge schools of endemic salema gather in front of the wall. Turtles, rays, whitetip and Galapagos sharks and barracudas are seen, especially when the current runs.
