Albany Rock

Also known as: Albany Islet

Albany Rock is a small crescent-shaped island just south of Buccaneer's Cove on the northwest coast of Santiago. Its sloping rock wall, boulders and pinnacles are full of crevices and covered with sea fans and black coral. Turtles, barracudas, golden and spotted eagle rays and Galapagos sharks are seen, and red-lipped batfish sit on the sandy plateau. Galapagos Travel Advisor notes that drifting with the current can bring hammerheads and mantas.
