Crocker Reef
Also known as: Crocker Wall
Crocker Reef runs from shallow spur-and-groove sections to deep valleys that open onto sand, so different moorings give very different dives. At its south end Crocker Wall descends from mounding coral heads at about 30 feet to its base near 80 feet, with large barrel sponges and gorgonians. Grunts, yellowtail and grouper hang over the reef, and sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, green morays and nurse sharks are regularly seen. Crocker Reef lies outside the sanctuary preservation areas, unlike its neighbour Davis Reef. Its distance from shore usually means good visibility and mild currents.
