Pythéas Wreck

Also known as: Le Pytheas

The wreck lies right at the exit of Port-Vendres harbour, so close to shore that little of the ship is left. The boiler, the stern, ribs, the rudder and mooring gear can still be found, and the same dive takes in an arch and fissures in the rock. Damselfish, morays, octopus, cuttlefish, scorpionfish and conger eels live around it together with flabellina and doris nudibranchs. More experienced divers can head north to a shoal between 16 and 24 m, where a line leads to a vertical anchor.
