Anse de Peyrefite

Also known as: Peyrefite

Peyrefite cove sits between Banyuls-sur-Mer and Cerbère at the southern end of the marine reserve's partial protection zone, which runs from Île Grosse to Cap Peyrefite. The reserve authority names it as one of the two zones where boats moor on organised buoys. The beach is also the start of the reserve's underwater trail for snorkellers, open in July and August. Along that trail the bottom changes from pebbles to Posidonia meadows, rock blocks, faults and small drop-offs.
