Landing Cove

Landing Cove is where visitors land on East Anacapa Island, and it has been protected from fishing for decades, which shows in the size and number of fish and lobsters. A reef runs parallel to the cliffs with lush kelp and schools of blacksmith, opaleye and big sheephead. Its main feature is a large underwater arch in the outer reef that is easy to swim through, with fish and macro life on both sides. The cove is sheltered from both the south swell and the prevailing northwest weather, so it is diveable on most days. Divers must keep well clear of the landing dock and the boat traffic in the cove.
