Whittle Rock
The reef spreads over a wide area with several named pinnacles, gullies and swim-throughs, and the feature called Whittle Rock itself is a huge boulder on top of the main outcrop. A metal buoy marks the site. Depths run from about 3 m on top to 35 m. Anchors thought to come from the East Indiaman Euphrates lie in a sandy gully near the north-eastern pinnacle. Great white sharks frequent the area, so divers are advised to descend quickly.
