Rocky Bank
Also known as: Rocky Banks
The top of the bank lies at around 22 to 25 m, and the area shallower than 30 m covers about two square kilometres before the reef slopes down beyond 50 m to the south. The south side has steps, large boulders and deep gullies covered with sponges and anemones, and rock lobsters walk the bottom without hiding. The northern part carries a kelp forest of split fan kelp where stingrays and gully sharks are regularly seen. Pelagic fish such as yellowtail and yellowfin tuna sometimes join divers on their safety stops. The trip takes about 1.5 hours each way, so two dives are usually made.
