Tanjung Kopi
Also known as: Pangalingan
Two walls meet here, and the plateau between them slopes down to about 30 m before the wall falls to more than 80 m. The current can be fierce and change direction up and down, so tide timing and an experienced guide are essential, and divers enter upstream and often use a reef hook. That current is what draws the big fish: resident schools of batfish and jacks, bigeye trevally, blacktip sharks, dogtooth tuna, giant trevally and napoleon wrasse, with blacktail barracuda hanging at about 7 m. The southern reef top has soft coral gardens with harlequin shrimp, ribbon eels, frogfish and nudibranchs.
