Mandolin
Also known as: Mandolin Point
Mandolin is mostly a steep wall with a few sloping parts, and it is usually dived as a drift. Dive The World places its thick whip corals between 20 and 45 m and suggests the name may come from them; Lumbalumba links it to the harmony of the instrument instead. Sponges, sea fans and black coral trees line the wall, with moray eels and lobsters in the crevices. A school of midnight snapper, napoleon wrasse, bumphead parrotfish, whitetip reef sharks and turtles are typical sightings, and the reef top is good for snorkelling and macro.
