Villa antistante il Castello Aragonese

Also known as: Villa in front of the Aragonese Castle · La peschiera semicircolare della Villa antistante castello di Baia

The ruins visible below the castle belvedere belonged to the seaward part of a palatial residence that is now partly inside the castle walls. The best-preserved feature is a semicircular fishpond, a Roman fish farm with a portico protected by concrete pillars and channels for water exchange. Bradyseism has sunk the fishpond below sea level, and eight pillars stand against the waves. The dive stays close to the coast and is often done partly on the surface.
