Traliccio di Punta Carena
Also known as: Il Traliccio
Decades ago a storm brought down a big pylon near the Punta Carena lighthouse, and the sea dragged it down the steep underwater wall to where the rock meets sand at roughly 58 m. Its beams are now covered in red and two-coloured gorgonians, false black coral, yellow encrusting sponges and tunicates. Thousands of anthias surround the structure, and the water is usually very clear. Because of the depth and the currents, the dive is reserved for technical divers, with decompression done along the wall on the way up. Sunfish are sometimes seen in the warmer months.
