Secca di Nisida
The shoal is part of the outer bank of Nisida and is separated from the island by a sandy plain. Its south-facing wall carries yellow and white gorgonians and lace-like Leptogorgia fans, and a plateau above is cut by pinnacles and canyons. Groupers and white bream live in the dens, while snapper, amberjack, sea bass and golden grey mullet pass through. Purple and yellow Cratena nudibranchs and sea slugs are common on the algae, and lobsters peer out of the cracks.
