Gorishoek De Punt

Also known as: Gorishoek

Divers enter from a sturdy stair at the end of the pier. The stones on the steep slope are covered with hydroids and brittle stars and alive with crabs, lobsters, hermit crabs, butterfish and wrasse; in winter rocklings come here to mate, and scattered peat blocks carry small anemones. The current around the pier and the point can be strong and treacherous, with vertical movements, so divers return along the bottom and never make a free ascent near the fairway. The left side of the pier is closed to divers because of the small harbour.
