Kichwani
Also known as: Kichwani Wall
Kichwani is a near-vertical coral bank at Mnemba whose crevices hide lionfish, porcupinefish, leaf fish and nudibranchs. Dive centres describe it as a drift along the wall, usually with a gentle current, although conditions at Mnemba can change from day to day. Out in the blue, schools of snappers, fusiliers and batfish pass by, and bluefin trevally hunt along the reef edge. Whitetip reef sharks and Napoleon wrasse are among the larger animals reported here, and dolphins are sometimes seen from the wall. Because the reef starts very shallow, snorkellers and new divers can use the top while experienced divers go deeper.
