Steinbruch
The site lies on the toll road from Einsiedl towards Niedernach and Jachenau, with a large car park directly above the entry and a stone stair down to the water. Slightly left of the entry a blue and white maypole stands at about 15 m, and from there a scree field leads down to the famous broken rock edges with crevices and niches. A mirror is fixed between the edges and the scree at around 32 to 38 m, and deeper still divers have placed figures such as gargoyles, an angel and a Buddha. Posts in about 3 m of water make a natural place for safety stops, and large pike gather there in summer. Because the site is exempt from the winter ban on the south shore and has parking next to the water, it is popular in winter.
