The Angle

The Angle starts right at the corner where Tiputa Pass meets the outer reef, so divers see into the pass and over the open-ocean drop-off at the same time. Big schools of paddletail snappers and bigeye scads swirl here to avoid jacks, napoleon wrasse, dogtooth tuna and sharks. Experienced divers can go down towards the bottom at around 45 m to watch manta rays, a squadron of grey reef sharks, rays and sometimes a big hammerhead, while less qualified divers stay higher up in schools of barracuda. Dolphins or even a sailfish may appear in the blue, and current is likely.
