Ali Baba

Also known as: Alibaba

Ali Baba is a depression in the coral of Garuae Pass that acts as a refuge from the current. Thousands of reef fish crowd into it, including bigeyes, snappers and humphead wrasse, while grey reef sharks and whitetip reef sharks move among them. O2 Fakarava calls it a natural aquarium. Divers usually arrive here after drifting through the canyons of the pass, and from here the dive finishes slowly in the lagoon with the safety stop.
