Duppy Waters

The name refers to the ghostly patterns that sunlight sometimes throws on the wall. From a reef top at about 20 to 25 ft, a wide sand channel runs west and slopes to roughly 60 ft before spilling over a wall that drops beyond 140 ft. Divers can also cross the ridge at about 40 ft to look straight down into the deep blue. Large barrel sponges grow along the face, and groupers, yellowtail snapper, creole wrasse and turtles are common. The reef top is busy with juvenile fish.
