Blackish Point

Captain Morgan's places the site at the western end of Rock Harbour among its north-side dives. Volcanic rock covered in soft corals and pillar coral forms the top of the reef, and below it runs a stretch of caverns, crevices and overhangs, several with chimney holes that let shafts of light in. Large tube, rope and vase sponges grow on the wall and in the caves. It is one of the few Utila sites where big midnight parrotfish are regularly seen, along with dog snapper, spotted and green morays, lobster and drum fish. Dive centres also report lionfish here.
