Airport Caves
The site lies along the airport section of the island's south-eastern shore, a short boat ride from town. Along the wall, caverns and a U-shaped open cave sit in shallow water, with sunlight streaming in through several openings. Staghorn and elkhorn coral grow on the reef, which drops to about 40 ft before a sandy floor slopes deeper. Green morays, nurse sharks, lobster, crabs and squid shelter in the crevices, and seahorses and toadfish hide on the reef. Stingrays are often found in the sand, and spotted eagle rays often pass by or feed below the reef.
