CJ's Drop Off

Also known as: CJs Drop Off

The site marks the western end of the Turtle Harbour stretch, where the fringing reef ends at the edge of the continental shelf. From a reef top cut by sand channels, the wall drops vertically into deep water, with giant barrel sponges and terraces of sheet coral along its face. Divers swim with open blue water on one side and a lively reef on the other. Hawksbill and loggerhead turtles, spotted eagle rays, barracuda and morays are common, and dive shops mention manta rays and reef sharks offshore. Pillar corals and canyons near the lip shelter tarpon and grouper.
