Secca della Croce
Also known as: Secca IV
The shoal rises to a plateau around 15 m that holds big schools of fish. The side facing open water descends in a series of steep walls covered in gorgonians, with dens of lobsters and morays, while the landward side slopes gently with large boulders. Brown meagre and white bream hide among the rocks, and dentex and amberjacks race past in the blue. Strong currents often sweep the area, and summer boat traffic needs attention. A deep scooter route along the outer wall continues towards the Giglio coast.
