Buoy SP7
Also known as: Buoy SP 7
The descent follows the buoy chain straight into barracuda and amberjacks. The flat summit is colonised by pre-coralligenous life and a large colony of transparent light-bulb sea squirts. On the east-facing wall yellow gorgonians and red gorgonian fans over a metre wide are the main show, with many nudibranchs among them. Big but shy groupers, lobsters, European lobsters and sleeping catsharks live in the crevices, and tuna may pass in the open water. Sometimes strong bottom currents and the open-water ascent add to the challenge.
