The Little Pass

Also known as: The Small Pass

The dive starts roughly in the middle of Avatoru Pass and lets the incoming tide carry divers into the narrow channel between two islets. The current there is fairly strong and changeable because the same volume of water has to squeeze through a smaller gap. The walls of the channel are dotted with small grottos where whitetip reef sharks rest, along with groupers, moray eels and scorpionfish. Blackfin sharks patrol the channel and manta rays sometimes feed against the current near the surface. The 6 Passengers calls it the most colourful dive of the area, and it ends in the calm water of the lagoon among coral.
