Ramu Ramu

Also known as: Aramuramu

About ten minutes by boat north of the pass, a long canyon is carved into the reef. Its broken walls and overhangs shelter shade-loving fish, fine corals and whip gorgonians hiding small creatures. Whitetip reef sharks rest under rocks and small grey reef sharks are common, though there are fewer big predators than at the pass. Schools of paddletail snappers and some napoleon wrasse are present, and blacktip sharks patrol the shallows above the canyon near the reef channels. Raie Manta Diving Tikehau highlights the exceptional visibility and dolphins on the way out.
