Hobart Wharves
Also known as: Hobart docks
The Hobart wharves are well flushed by the tides and shallower than many expect. Schooling fish gather around the piles, and seahorses and sea stars are scattered across the mud, along with antique bottles uncovered by ship propellers. Introduced Japanese seastars (Asterias amurensis) cover the bottom, so wet gear must not be taken straight to another dive area. You can enter from a boat or directly from the wharf, and exit via the ladders. Tasports directs divers to a safe area.
