Sha'ab Claudio

The site consists of two small reefs, and the day dives concentrate on the southern one, where a canyon system cuts through the reef. Two main chambers are linked by narrow channels and swim-throughs at about 8 to 10 m, and openings in the ceiling let shafts of sunlight into the caverns. The entrances are partly hidden behind coral at 4 to 8 m, and divers leave through a chimney onto the reef top. Outside, a coral garden with large porites heads covers the west side, anemones grow along the walls of the channel, and a resident napoleon wrasse is often around. Because the reef is popular, the caverns can get busy, and good buoyancy matters so the fine sediment stays on the floor.
