Pinnacles

Pinnacles lies on the northern, inshore edge of 2 Mile Reef. Divers weave between rock pillars, gullies and boulders separated by sand patches. The tallest, the Old Woman pinnacle, rises close to the surface. Two resident whitetip reef sharks are often found in a cave near the main sand patch, and zebra sea bream gather around the pillars. Soft and thistle corals, whip corals and anemones add colour, and paperfish sometimes hide along the sandy edges.
