Bikini
Also known as: Bikini Reef · Bikini on 2 mile
Bikini lies just out to sea of the southern end of 2 Mile Reef and is dived in three parts: its northern wall, Mellow Yellow at the southern end and the deeper Hopscotch arm. Reefteach splits it into Bikini North and Bikini South, with low ledges about 40 and 100 m long. The ledge is almost one continuous cleaning station, where boxer, cleaner and Durban dancer shrimps and cleaner wrasse tend morays, angelfish and rockcod. Macro specials include paperfish, ghost pipefish and many nudibranchs, while garden eels peep from the sand around the ledge. Amoray says the African pygmy seahorse was first discovered here.
