Beacon Point
Huge boulders lie on a sandy bottom, and the reef continues north along the east side of the island towards Beacon Reef. Gorgonian sea fans are especially large and plentiful here. Divers often see blue-spotted stingrays, Jenkins rays and other rays, plus whitetip reef sharks and leopard sharks, and eagle rays and manta rays occasionally. Ribbon eels live in the sand, and trevally, groupers, snappers, sweetlips and barracuda are common. The current usually carries divers east and then north, though it can run the other way.
