North Point
The site is a ridge that climbs from about 40 metres to a peak near 12 metres before falling away on both sides, which speeds up the current. Grey reef sharks use the current line, and counts of twenty or more are reported, while whitetips rest on deeper ledges and dogtooth tuna pass through. The ridge itself carries large porites bommies, staghorn thickets and table corals visited by bumphead parrotfish and napoleon wrasse. The safety stop is over a staghorn garden in about 6 metres. The site is exposed to swell, so operators dive it only when conditions allow.
