Barracuda Point
The dive starts on the steep wall and leads with the current to a channel at about 18 to 22 metres, where the barracuda school usually gathers and divers often stop to watch it circle. Grey reef sharks patrol the current line while whitetips rest on the channel floor. Bigeye and giant trevally, dogtooth tuna and herds of bumphead parrotfish are frequent visitors. Between the big moments the channel floor holds garden eels, morays, octopus and scorpionfish, and the dive ends over the colourful shallows next to Coral Garden. Current is what brings the fish here; it is usually moderate and can turn strong north of the point.
