Drop Off
When resorts still stood on Sipadan, divers walked off the beach straight onto this vertical wall; since they were removed it is dived from boats. Schools of jacks or barracuda often circle above divers within minutes of entering, while bumphead parrotfish, whitetip and grey reef sharks and green turtles pass along the face. The wall is covered in corals and sponges, and its cracks make it a rewarding night dive for crabs and shrimp. Scuba Junkie dives the Drop Off together with the mouth of Turtle Cave, a large cavern at about 20 metres. A resident school of bumphead parrotfish often waits in the shallows near the cave.
