North Point (Mataking)
Mataking lies on the edge of the continental shelf next to the deep Alice Channel, which carries pelagic life past the island. At North Point the cleaning station on the wall draws big fish, and BGB reports whale sharks with luck, best between April and June. Strong currents make it a site for advanced divers comfortable in the flow. On the way up, some of the largest green turtles in the area are seen near ribbon eels and coral cat sharks.
