House Reef (Mataking)
Divers walk in from the beach or start at the jetty, where schools of trevally, batfish, groupers and trumpetfish hover under the structure. Away from the jetty, the shallows hold nudibranchs, cuttlefish, lionfish, stonefish, squat lobsters and crocodilefish, and the blue-ringed octopus can be found. BGB reports a lair of garden eels on the sand below the wall and a resident great barracuda near the jetty. Mabul.com mentions a resident giant grouper and a moray eel of about three metres. Current is generally gentle.
