First Beach

The site is not pretty in terms of coral, but the silty slope with its rubble and unintentional structures attracts unusual animals. Scuba Junkie regularly records mimic, wonderpus, blue-ringed and starry night octopus. Ornate, robust and velvet ghost pipefish occur, as do Ambon scorpionfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, picturesque dragonets, flying gurnards and hairy frogfish. Pygmy and thorny seahorses and the gurnard lionfish complete the list. Scuba Junkie usually makes it the last dive of a Si Amil day.
