Gartmore

Also known as: Gartshore

The Gartmore was scuttled in East Weddell Sound in September 1914 and most of her is now broken and partly buried. Divers entering from the north shore of the barrier soon meet a winch, a ladder section, the rudder and a partly buried propeller blade. A large intact crankshaft and hull plating encasing the propeller shaft lie nearby. Many divers skip her and head straight for the better preserved Martis and Empire Seaman next door.
