Punta Tosca
Long arms of hardened lava reach out from the shore, enclosing a partly sheltered cove; divers can stay between the outcrops or follow the outer edge to watch the blue. The rugged reef has little coral but many cracks where lobsters hide, and whitetip reef sharks patrol the edges. Bottlenose dolphins regularly join divers here, sometimes playing on the sand between the lava fingers. Galapagos, silky and silvertip sharks are common and tiger sharks are seen more often than at most other sites. Oceanic manta rays and, in season, humpback whales complete the list.
