P-47 Plane Wreck

Also known as: P-47D Thunderbolt

This World War II fighter, an American P-47D Thunderbolt, is still almost completely intact, which is rare for an aircraft wreck. It lies on a gentle slope covered in soft corals between 26 and 33 m. After exploring the plane, divers swim up the coral slope for the rest of the dive and the safety stop. Leaf scorpionfish, flatheads and groupers live around the wreck. Soul Scuba Divers combine it with a day trip to Batanta.
