Magic Mountain
Also known as: Shadow Reef
This seamount lies about 20 minutes from Misool Resort and rises to within a few metres of the surface. It is one of the best places in southern Raja Ampat to see both oceanic and reef mantas at their cleaning stations. Misool Resort calls it a nursery for whitetip reef sharks, and Napoleon wrasse are common. Because it is fully exposed to ocean currents, large schools of pelagic fish hang in the blue and divers often hook in.
