Ranger

Also known as: The Wreck of the Ranger

The Ranger sits intact and upright about 15 ft above the bottom, with some overhead spaces and swim-throughs and much of its steering gear still visible. Many species of nudibranchs live on the hull, and wolf eels, giant Pacific octopus and rockfish are regularly reported. A guide line runs from an exposed piling at the corner of the marina breakwater to the bow, so the wreck is simple to find. High tide shortens the walk over the long shallow beach, and pilings cut off below the waterline near the breakwater are a hazard.
