Three Rocks
Also known as: 3 Rocks
Three Rocks is made up of three coral heads rising from a sandy bottom inside Sosua Bay, so new divers can enjoy the reef without the risk of hitting it. Dive centres use it for first dives, training and snorkelling, starting in about 3 m and sloping to roughly 9 m around the rocks. Sergeant majors, blue tangs and yellowtail snappers gather around the coral heads, and stingrays, moray eels and garden eels are seen in and around the sand. The site also holds the staghorn coral nursery of the Sosua Bay coral restoration work, where coral fragments hang on tree-shaped frames before being transplanted. From the third rock divers can continue down to the deeper Coral Gardens.
