Lovers Cove

Also known as: Lover's Cove

Lovers Cove is entered from Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove, where stairs lead down to small beaches. A wide sand channel runs out from the beach and is the main navigation aid, with reef and kelp on both sides. The shallows hold eelgrass and colourful algae that act as a nursery for young fish; opaleye, perches and the occasional sheephead are reported, and harbor seals and monkeyface eels are common. Farther out, tall rocks with small walls and strawberry anemones lead toward the point. Pacific Grove restricts diving here on peak-season weekends during the day.
